Championship Bristol City had already beaten three Premier League teams in the League Cup before the holders, Manchester United, visited Ashton Gate in the competition’s quarter finals. Speaking exclusively to The Coaches’ Voice, their-then manager Lee Johnson revisits the tactics that inspired their unexpected 2-1 victory over José Mourinho’s expensively assembled team.

Johnson, an admirer of the great Sir Alex Ferguson, also reveals how a trip to the Manchester derby 10 days earlier had contributed to their successful approach.
