Uwe Rösler
Fortuna Düsseldorf, 2020–
"We try to be the best we can be in every training session to push ourselves to the limit. Sometimes, that can be very intense. I'm aware of that."
Uwe Rösler reflects on growing up in East Germany, where his education in a School of Excellence taught him valuable early lessons about how to handle pressure. The ability to do so took him to the Premier League as a player, back to England as a manager and, most recently, to Malmö FF and then Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Bundesliga.
Speaking exclusively to The Coaches' Voice, the former Brentford, Wigan Athletic and Fleetwood Town manager discusses how those experiences formed his character. He also explains why an intense approach is sometimes needed to succeed in management.
