Eight modules take you from the fundamentals of professional scouting through to two full match analyses. Each one follows the rhythm of a real week in the job.

The professional scouting model

What scouting is for, how professional clubs use it, and the different types of analysis you’ll master.

Module 3

Team structure and dynamics

Read a team’s system, understand players by position, and take your first step into dynamic analysis.

Module 4

The attacking phase

Break down the attack in its three sub-phases: build-up, progression and finishing.

Module 5

The defensive phase

Analyse the three types of defensive block and how teams defend direct play.

Module 6

Transitions

Master both moments: attack to defence and defence to attack.

Module 7

Set pieces

Analyse the strategy behind corners, free kicks, throw-ins and penalties.

Is the course online, in person, or both?

This course is fully online and self-paced, so you can study at a time and location that suits you.

How much time do I need each week?

The course totals 45 hours. It’s fully self-paced, so you can work through it on a timeline that suits you. Generally the course takes between 9 and 14 weeks.

Is the course in English?

Yes, this course is delivered entirely in English.

Do I need prior experience or specific software?

No prior scouting experience is needed. We introduce the video analysis software from scratch; you’ll need a laptop and an internet connection.

What certification do I get?

You’ll earn two professional certifications on completion: Specialist in Scouting and Game Analysis, and Specialist in Tactical Reports. Both are awarded by Coaches’ Voice School, the education arm of Coaches’ Voice, trusted by clubs and federations worldwide.

What if I can’t fit it in one month?

While the course is self-paced, you have 14 weeks from your start date to complete it. If something comes up, your tutor can extend this for you.
