What this course does for your coaching.

Plan a full youth season

Plan, programme and periodise your content by developmental stage, so every session has a clear purpose and builds towards the next.

Coach with intent

Design training that fits how young players learn, from the warm-up to the main game. You’ll know what to coach, when to coach it, and how to make it stick.

Finish certified and connected

Complete the Expert in Youth Football certification and join an alumni network of coaches working across academies and federations.

Curriculum

The course, module by module.

Four modules take you from the foundations of youth development through to reading and analysing a real match. You’ll learn to observe the game with tactical intentions and to use a game model suited to every youth age group.

Module 1

Planning and programming

The methodology, the theory behind training young players, and how to identify a player’s stage of game understanding — then how to plan and programme your season around it.

Module 2

Methodology

How to teach on the pitch: designing sessions across the warm-up and main phases, and choosing the right coaching style for the moment.

Module 3

Physical development

Build physical development into every session, from coordination and psychomotor skills to age-appropriate movement, rather than treating fitness as a bolt-on.

Module 4

Match analysis

Watch the game with tactical intent and work with game models for 5v5, 7v7 and 9v9, so you can turn what you see into clear coaching points.
