Edin Terzic
Athletic Club, 2026-
“I started to create a handbook: "Who am I?" And I wrote down everything, and this process took me a while, and it’s still not finished.”
In his first role as a head coach, Edin Terzic led Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final, won the German Cup and came within a whisker of winning the Bundesliga. Now he is ready for his next managerial role, at one of Spanish football’s most iconic teams, Athletic Club.
And so La Liga is the next step for this highly-rated German-Croatian coach, who has previously worked in England’s Premier League and Turkey’s Süper Lig, as well as his native Germany. In this Coaches’ Voice exclusive filmed in 2024, Terzic discussed the process he went through to prepare for becoming a head coach, and outlined his approach to some of the most important aspects of leadership at a top-level football club.
